My Curly Hair Routine
Hello people!! Sorry I've been extremely busy lately. Schools finally over, I'm getting ready for vacation I've been little down lately with some drama, and etc. Even worse, my computer broke down, and that is why I haven't been able to post. I am even planning on making YouTube beauty videos!! But until then, I can't make videos. Though I can update my blog thru my IPhone! So yay!!
Lets talk about my curly hair routine!!
Okay, so it's summer where I live and it gets very humid. Now why waste hours straightening hair when the minute you go outside it'll get frizzy?? Like no girl. Ain't nobody trying to look like a hot mess. So this summer, I decided to take intensive care of my curly hair and attempt to help it grow healthy!
Now, the products I use you can find at any drugstores, but two I got at my Walmart at the Ethic Care Section. Other than that, I've purchased all the products at my local Walmart. So they're inexpensive! I'm so sorry I couldn't take pictures of me with the cotton shirt wrap or my two strand twist! I will next time!
Lets begin!
First what I do is start off with untangled hair. I use detangler and a wide tooth comb!
Then I go in the shower, now it depends if I shampoo or cowash. If you didn't know shampooing sucks out all your natural oils and that's a huge con for curly hair. So what I do is I shampoo my hair once a week and then cowash with a conditioner. (Cowashing means washing your hair with conditioner rather than shampoo)
Next I use Garnier Moisturizing conditioner, I leave it in for 10-20 minutes. Ill wash my body, shave, and do my skincare routine. After that is done I wash it out and squeeze my hair to release the excessive water.

Once I'm done with that ill apply the Beautiful texture curl control curling cream, and do my two strands twist.

Ill wrap my hand in a 100% percent cotton shirt and do what's next.
Basically that's it. Nothing special really. Very basic. And my hair is extremely soft and isn't dry at all! Just for the next day, untwist the strands, spread them out, and use a little bit of curling pudding or oil once you're done.

E.L.F Haul
I have been so caught up with school and my personal life. I had absolute no time to even check my blog or anything. I sowwie (◞‸◟;). But!! On the bright side, there is no more worries. I finished taking my finals and school year is over!! Well...tomorrow is my last day but oh well. More time to be a lazy sloth, and hang out with friends! Oh and vacation! (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ. BUT ANYWHO enough about all of this.
Let's talk about my........ E.L.F Haul!!!
So E.L.F. had this sale of 50% off their best sellers. So being the unemployed teen that I am, I asked my mom if I could buy some things online. Considering the products are so inexpensive and it being HALF off, she agreed to let me buy some stuff. I purchased 13 things and the total came to 23 dollars but plus shipping and tax. (Curse you shipping and taxes.) the complete total was 32.05. Another thing I didn't like was that it took ages for it to come. I ordered it on the 5th, it didn't ship until it was the 10th, and didn't come here until the 14th. Now I can't complain, because I ordered from E.L.F from the past, and it took only three days for my order to come here. But considering it was a huge sale, I suppose that's why it took so long. But here!
Now, my mom got the Nude Nectar, and that what is exactly the name, nude. Just barely makes a different, and it dried out. But THIS one, omg. It has been a week now and it hasnt dried up yet.
Next is the Stipple brush

But here!
First thing up is the Essential Lip Stain in Crimson Crush
Now, my mom got the Nude Nectar, and that what is exactly the name, nude. Just barely makes a different, and it dried out. But THIS one, omg. It has been a week now and it hasnt dried up yet.
Next is the Stipple brush
I honestly only have one con about the brush but if anything their Studio line brushes are the best!! I have five and including the ones that come with the concealer and eyebrow kit, I have 7. The only con is the fact it sheds like a LITTLE bit, like literally it only shed two "hair". But it's so soft and easy to use, i love it so much.
Next is the eyebrow kit, I think this is my current favorite product. I honestly hate doing ANYTHING with my eyebrows, whenever i filled them out with an eyebrow pencil, i felt like I looked like Big Foot's sister. But this kit, is so easy to use, the darker side which is the wax to define and shape the brows, while the lighter is use to fill the brows in. I honestly love this product so much, i even use the little brush, sue me!
The HD Blushes are the best!! I can't obsess how much their my favorite BLUSH at the moment, I got the colors in Encore and Diva. The swatches are diva on the left and Encore on the right. A little goes a long way, if you honestly apply alot you will look like Bozo the clown, I know i did when I thought my definition of little was "little". But these are long lasting and so pretty and pigmented.
This product WOULD be good if I picked the right shade, so knowing the summer is coming up and I decided to get Dark instead of medium. By the swatches you can see it's TOO dark, i think the lightest shade, the one on the left would be great, i mean i know at the moment it's too dark. But it does give coverage!!
I got the Mineral Infused Primer in brightening lavender to see if there would be any difference in the clear primer I have from BareMineral, and it DOES brighten my skin!! I love it, but it's not for a daily use though. If you go back to the swatches of the blushes you'll see a speck of the primer.
The E.L.F translucent Matifying Power is great for my overly oily nose. ;-;. It does the job without making me looking cakey, which is a plus for anyone really except for clowns, but still!!.
Lastly is the E.L.F baked blush that I was supposed to order in Peachy Keen, but I got it in Passion Pink accidentally. I use it as a topcoat for my blushes for a shimmery effect. And for some odd reason it won't upload. .-.
That's all I got, even though i said thirteen and I only talked about 9 things, the other four are my mothers and it's just a gold eyeliner, stiffle brush, and a lip stain.
I'll see you later on today, but I'm off to get ready to hang out and pick up my sister!!

E.L.F Cosmetics
If you were to ask me what was my favorite drugstore brand, I would say E.L.F without hesitant. I needed a reliable drugstore brand in case I wanted to practice on some makeup. Something along my personal price range, because I being a teenager it's a tough world to find a job at fifteen unless it's babysitting. Which I won't start until the summer, so on occasions when I do get money, I tend to get along 20 dollars. Though back on my birth-week, I had a Quinces, and got loads of money. Considering my personal finance class got the best out of me, I decided it would be appropriate if I were to be frugal on some personal items( i.e makeup). Granted, I didn't say ALL personal items, (gotcha there!) So of course, I did spend 54 dollars at Sephora.com getting a Stila gel eyeliner, Smashbox HD concealer, and Sephora rouge lipstick. Now you must understand that I didn't have many brushes at the time. Hell i still dont. I shared with my mother her Baremineral foundation and blush brushes, along with a crease brush from target I would use as an all overshadow brush. What's the point in splurging on brushes when I didn't even have any practice with them yet. So i searched up makeup brushes on Google, looking for good brushes at an affordable price. Then came E.L.F. (Eyeslipsface)
How did you get hooked on E.L.F?
Really I absolutely love E.L.F products. I normally buy it for dupes. As in an example, instead of buying Make Up For Ever HD blush, I would buy the E.L.F's version instead. Then if I really did love it I would buy the pricier product afterwards. If I could make their slogan it would be, "Little goes a long way" Some products are just shocking you only paid 1 dollar for concealer NO WAY!! I've bought the Toning correcting concealer, the shiny lip gloss, the small smudge brush, angled, C brush, concealer brushes. Along with the eyelid primer and eyelash curlers. The only one product I do not like is the eyelash curler, I accidentally got mascara on it, and it feels as if someone it yanking my eyelashes because it sticks ON to my eyelashes. Overall, I don't have high expectations, I do not expect my concealer to give me coverage for the WHOLE day and not crease. Just you know being a teenage girl with a tight budget, i don't want to splurge on foundation (let's say) when i don't even know how to not make it cakey. I would recommend it for dupes or for beginners.
Starting yesterday they made a sale on 50% on their best seller products, so you know I obviously got on that! I bought 14 products for 29.35 (not including shipping and taxes). I will do a review maybe even my first video on E.L.F haul when it arrives. ^_^

Imperfections
I've been procrastinating around not knowing exactly what to write about, then it hit me. Imperfections. There is not one human being in this world who can say they do not have one imperfection. I mean let's be honest here, in some point in our lives, we start realizing an imperfection. After we spot that imperfection, we start obsessing over that imperfection, and we'll jump the first opportunity to make it disappear. People even go to the extreme to nose jobs, boobs job, and etc. Then there's others who would do as simply contouring your nose (which gives the illusion of slimmer nose). We all have imperfections, and i'll even listen you mine.
I believe to have a wide nose.
I have dark spots that I believe is noticeable.
I have flabby arms.
and so far.
But honestly in my opinion, I believe imperfections are what create us humans. They help define the difference in all of us. But enjoy your imperfections guys! <3

About The Girl Behind The Screen
Normally I suck at writing about me, because unfortunately I don't know what to write. I personally believe not everyone would care to know about the person or their lives. But you should at least know who exactly IS the person, their purpose for something, to continuing being interest in them.
If you aren't interested you can just skip to where it says My Passion. So here goes nothing really, LOL.
I'm Julissa.
I was born in le month of love on the 28th (February 28th)
I'm fifteen.
I live with both of my parents, and my little sister in the "Guido" state other known as New Jersey.
I'm Dominican, i'm very much connected with my culture, I speak Spanish, I'm in LOVE with our food, and still learning how to dance Bachata and Mergenue.
If you were to see me in the hallways, you would normally see me being bubbly to everyone in the hallways, and impersonating Glozell, ThisIsACommentary, LuanLegacy, and Jenna Marbles. And also going boycrazying LOLOL
I enjoy geeky things, I am in LOVEEEEEE with Doctor Who. Ithink I can go a whole day talking about Doctor Who. I would rather read than watch a movie, and I enjoy googling history of historical places.
I am hoping to travel around my traveling bucketlist.
Oh! I am diagnose with A.D.D.( Attention Deficity Disorder) and slightly with Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder).
But let me inform you, I'm not the "Annoying" type, I'm more of the forgetful, slightly disorganized, (or what I prefer to call "creative chaos"), and zoning out type.
It does affect me in school, i won't lie, but it has it's perks. For instance, I would could zone people out and get my job done first. I'm first in my classes. But I do tend to forget homework at times, or forget how to do a certain problem in math.
BUT that's a little bit about me, now onto to WHY i created this blog.
My passion for makeup came from watching Michelle Phan's Hastune Miku tutorial, and I was in awe in how makeup from Sephora, Drug stores, and etc can make you look like a doll! I was hooked. Considering my hands aren't artsy, I had difficulty with eyeliner, eyeshadows, and my eyebrows (until this day with eyebrows.) but after a while, i got the hang of it, then i went to foundation and concealer (wasn't hard at all). Now I'll let you know I wouldn't even get drugstore brand yet. I got like Beauty Depot stuff, like 2 dollars for a eyeshadow palette, dollar store eyeliner, and etc. Then i moved up to L'Oreal, New York Color, Maybelline, and etc. Now you can imagine the trill i got when my mom bought me my first Sephora Collection which was Sephora Colorful eyeshadow palette in Pin Up Snow, Sephora Classical All over brush, and Eyeshadow Primer. I was in LOVE.
Now in this journey, I've realized most of my friends or girls my age don't know exactly WHAT they're doing. Then it came to me I should help other people who don't know about much makeup. but mind that basically everyone is doing that. But girls my age can't always ask for 200 dollars and get everything in Sephora or Ultra. Which is okay, because there are some companies where their products are equivalent to high-end brands. People believe in order to look your best you must splurge, which isn't true. So in that case, I believe to help people with makeup, and expand their horizon. (:
Now on to hair,
Ever since I could remember I hated HATED my curly hair. I would get relaxers, keratin, and straighten my hair constantly. Until I completely damaged my hair that i had to chop off my hair, in which my hair was waist-length, all gone to Dora's length.) When I was eleven, i desperately wanted my hair to grow back longer and faster, so I decided that i wanted to stop putting relaxers in my hair. But still it was still getting damaged, i would literally go to the salon every Saturday. Heat Damage. Then when i was fourteen, i would spent hours learning how to grow my hair and maintaining it healthy. Because my hair was dry, and had hay texture. I went to the salon, cut off my split ends, and from there I would buy hair masks, oils, and leave them in for hours. Now my hair felt soft, and had very few split ends. Then i came across this online article that said reasons why to go natural. After i read it, i searched up ways on how to maintain it, anti-frizz, and etc. Now I made a pact that i would try to grow my hair by the end of Summer 2013, which swears off heat, leaving my hair curly, and maintaining it's care. That's actually what I started doing, and my hair at the moment is few inches pass collarbone length, and my goal is to grow reach my boobies length.
Now you know my purpose of this blog, now I really hope you enjoy it and keep along my journey. We all aren't perfect, and please follow me! Where I'll show you makeup at great prices, tutorials, and join me along my hair journey~
